John Carson, Chief Strategy Officer

A co-founder of ISC8, John Carson currently serves as the company's Chief Strategy Officer and Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors. Carson, who has been awarded 15 patents for smart sensors, has served in multiple capacities during his tenure at ISC8 including Chief Executive Officer from April 2005 until December 2010, President from May of 2002 until December of 2010, and earlier as its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer.

Carson began his career as an electro-optical systems engineer on a major military space program at Baird Atomics, Inc., a subcontractor for the Lockheed Missiles and Space Company.  He left Baird in 1967 to form his own company, which evolved into the EOCOM Corporation, which was eventually sold to the American Hoechst Corporation and Irvine Sensors Corporation.  Other spin-offs include SSG, Midac, MEMSCO, and Novalog.

Carson has been awarded 15 patents for smart sensors, 3D packaging, and single processing architectures, including neural networks. He holds a B.S. in Physics and Philosophy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
